From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 0615 ddt on 10/21/2011, I received a telephone call from privacy data omitted. He was very apologetic and said he needed to report an aircraft accident in which he had been the pilot. He said he was actually outside of our FSDO office waiting for us to open and I informed him I was on duty inside, at which time he came into the office. He stated that he had been flying the previous afternoon around 1600 (CDT) with a friend, privacy data omitted (sp.) In an A-1 husky aircraft, N93HU which he, privacy data omitted owns. They had departed fargo about an hour previously and were intending to land for practice at the christine, ND airport. However they could no locate the airport and decided to come back to fargo. While in flight the pilot saw a "grassy" field just north of Wolverton, MN an elected to do a practice landing there. He reported the landing was uneventful, but just after touch down when the aircraft was "rolling out" and at a speed he estimated to be 20 to 30 mph; he experienced a spasm in his left leg. He said the spasm had been experienced previously and was caused by a hip replacement surgery on his left hip that was done in January, 2011.he stated that the spasm caused him to inadvertently apply heavy braking to the aircraft, which he also described as having oversize "tundra" tires. He reported the aircraft "flipped over" and came to rest on its back. Amended to correct typo on registration number and make did not match tcds, corrected.

As the FAA filed it

AT APPROXIMATELY 0615 DDT ON 10/21/2011, I RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL FROM ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. HE WAS VERY APOLOGETIC AND SAID HE NEEDED TO REPORT AN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT IN WHICH HE HAD BEEN THE PILOT. HE SAID HE WAS ACTUALLY OUTSIDE OF OUR FSDO OFFICE WAITING FOR US TO OPEN AND I INFORMED HIM I WAS ON DUTY INSIDE, AT WHICH TIME HE CAME INTO THE OFFICE.HE STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN FLYING THE PREVIOUS AFTERNOON AROUND 1600 (CDT) WITH A FRIEND, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ (SP.) IN AN A-1 HUSKY AIRCRAFT, N93HU WHICH HE, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OWNS.THEY HAD DEPARTED FARGO ABOUT AN HOUR PREVIOUSLY AND WERE INTENDING TO LAND FOR PRACTICE AT THE CHRISTINE, ND AIRPORT. HOWEVER THEY COULD NO LOCATE THE AIRPORT AND DECIDED TO COME BACK TO FARGO. WHILE IN FLIGHT THE PILOT SAW A "GRASSY" FIELD JUST NORTH OF WOLVERTON, MN AN ELECTED TO DO A PRACTICE LANDING THERE.HE REPORTED THE LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL, BUT JUST AFTER TOUCH DOWN WHEN THE AIRCRAFT WAS "ROLLING OUT" AND AT A SPEED HE ESTIMATED TO BE 20 TO 30 MPH; HE EXPERIENCED A SPASM IN HIS LEFT LEG.
