From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the morning of 21 October at stellar airpark (P19) the PIC ground handled a Cessna 182, N6693M to the refuel pumps for fuel. While fueling the plane, he got avgas on his hands and immediately after retracting the fuel hose went to the bathroom to clean his hands. Returning to the aircraft he noticed another aircraft waiting to pull up to the pumps. Arriving at the aircraft (approaching from the rear) the passenger told him she had put the ladder back; because of this he didn't go around to the front of the airplane. Instead of pushing it for reposition (to finish loading bags) he got in to taxi it out of the way. As the engine started he reported hearing an unusual "bumpn" sound. He pulled the mixture and exited the plane. Finding a bent tow or steering bar and a dent in one prop blade. An examination of the nose wheel and wheel pants revealed no damage. The PIC then pushed the airplane back to its parking spot and wrote up the prop and notified the club maintenance officer.

As the FAA filed it
