From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On takeoff climb pilot retracted gear. During retraction pilot heard a loud noise and felt something hit the floor under his feet. He noticed that he did not get the normal safe gear indication for the nose gear. Looked at gear through mirror on cowling and noticed nose gear hanging out of wheel well. Attemted emergency extension without success. Declared emergency on radio, and performed fly by of airport to have radio confirmation that his main gear was down. Landed on runway with minimal damage.
