From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 28, 2011, at 0930 MDT, N414UM, a Cessna aircraft company model CE-414A, twin engine airplane, registered to privacy data omitted and a group of partners, was flying at 6500 feet MSL on a right downwind departure from runway 7 at Four Corners Regional Airport (fmn), Farmington, NM, when the aircraft struck a duck with the nose of the aircraft. The aircraft remained in the traffic pattern and made a safe landing at fmn. The pilot and the two passengers were not injured. The aircraft received minor damage. The radome was broken inward where it attached, right of center on its upper surface, to the forward nose baggage compartment bulkhead and that bulkhead sustained a break in its outer circumference and was bent rearward.
