From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated that he departed bdr at approximately 0730 and arrived at isp at approximately 0800. During the runup at bdr he said that he completed the normal checklists and the landing gear position advisory system installed via STC tested normal. On approach to isp he completed a "gumps" check from memory and saw 4 lights illuminated on the gear position advisory system indicator. The pilot added that he did not recall hearing the aural advisory sound which normally alerts the pilot of the gear position when the aircraft reached a point just above the normal approach speed. In retrospect, the pilot accounts, those lights were on top of the indicator which is the position for a water landing. The pilot was asked if he also uses a paper check list. He responded that he looked at it. The gear advisory system was tested by inspectors from this office and the system tested normal.

As the FAA filed it
