From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a touch and go on runway 27 at Windham Airport in CT , ijd, at the end of the runway at approx 300 ft the aircraft went to a partial power condition, the pilot decreased the throttle then went to full increase, the engine rpm's increased to full then returned to partial power approx 50%, the pilot had a water reserviour directely in front of his flight path, the pilot made two right turns and attempted to land in the water, prior to touchdown the pilot believes the left upper wing stalled and the left lower wing then caught the water and was torn off, the upper left wing was pulled back 30 degrees, the pilot completed the landing with the engine running and taxied to shore then shut down the engine.
