From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Winds reported in the area at the time of the accident were out of the west in the high teens gusting to high twenties. Airman was landing on runway 22 which is 1600 feet long. Airman stated he encountered wind shear, which resulted in a hard landing. On touch down, the right main wheel assembly broke off. The airplane then became airborne again for a short time. When the airplane settled back on to the runway, the right main dug into the turf , causing the aircraft to veer to the right. The right wing, fuseloge and all three gear assemblies sustained subtantial damage. There was also sudden stoppage of both engines. Pilot was uningured.
