From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was looking for a spot to land near a camp for future alternate landing sites. The company provides flights to this camp and needed other landing sites due to frequent crosswinds. He performed one landing where he dragged the skis to check the snow depth and condition where he found it to be good. On the second attempt he wanted to perform a touch and go with the full aircraft weight on the skis. During the rollout after touch down the aircraft flipped over. After the accident the pilot walked the ski tracks and found a grass spot under his ski marks which he thinks may have contributed to the accident. Ptrs: AL01201201134
