From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N88EM was doing touch and go landings on runway 19L at Santa Ana airport. On one of the landings, the nose and propeller struck the ground causing minor damage and no injuries to the pilot. The owner believes the right wheel pant/cover came loose and rotated forward locking up the wheel. This caused the aircraft to rotate forward and contact the ground with the propeller. The wheel pant/covers had been removed in the process of removing the aircraft from the runway. Wheel cover attaching hardware was not located and mounting structure for the wheel cover was very distorted from its original design condition.
