From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed houston executive airport (tme) and climed to 1000 feet altitude while enroute to west houston airport (iws). Engine started running rough and immediately rolled back to idle, (fuel boost pump was on) the pilot selected an open field for an emergency landing. He landed to the south into a 20 to 25 knot head wind. Aircraft touch down and rolled 217 yards before stopping. The engine shutdown on its own after aircraft stopped. No injuries, minor damage to the aircraft (l/h wheel cover departed the aircraft). Both fuel tanks were almost full. Fuel samples were clear. Suspect engine driven fuel pump failure.
