From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At an altitude of 4500 ft in cruise flight pilot contacted ilm tower, reported loss of engine oil pressure, advised it could not reach an airfield, and was setting down in a field or on a road. Aircraft landed in a field with no apparent secondary airframe damage incurred as a result of the forced landing. Visual external examination of the engine revealed an 8 inch square area of the bottom of the crankcase missing by the number one and number two cylinders. The connecting rod for the number one cylinder was not connected, the rod connection bolts were in place but broken. The crankshaft journal did not show evidence of damage. One of the number two cylinder push rods was bent.
