From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was conducting touch and go landings at allegheny county airport in West Mifflin, PA, at approximately 13:42 pm local time on March 11, 2012. The PIC stated, "I had just landed with full flaps and steered plane to center line. Removed 1 notch of flaps then added full throttle. My left wing went up and plane veered left. I pulled back throttle and tried to use right rudder to bring plane back to parallel with runway. When I got into the grass, the nose wheel buckled under the plane. Prop hit ground and engine died." The evidence showed the aircraft bounced upon touch down. The aircraft's right main wheel and nose wheel impacted the runway indicated with skid marks 58 feet from the point of the second set of skid marks that led to the incident scene. The PIC attempted a go-around / touch- n- go and lost control on the clean up / power up phase of the maneuver. The aircraft's left main wheel skidded approximately 35 ft, and the right main wheel skidded approximately 12 feet as the aircraft veered to the left. The aircraft exited the pavement and the nose wheel sheared off,the propeller struck the ground several times ending with a sudden stoppage of the engine. The aircraft came to rest 37 paces from the runway edge on its nose. No evacuation was necessary and no injuries were reported by the PIC who was the sole occupant.
