From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 26, 2011 at 0858 central daylight savings time, N7592A, abuckeye Dream Machine, experimental light sport powered parachuteaircraft, owned and being operated by the experimental light sportcertificated pilot with one passenger on board was operatining under theprovisions of title 14 code of federal regulations part 91. The pilotmade an attempt to land long on a private grass airstrip heading 360.winds were gusting 5-8 knots from a heading of 270 causing a crosswindcoming from the pilots left. With crosswind gust, the pilot aborted thelanding and elected to make a right hand flight pattern. A safe leftflight pattern was hindered by trees in the way of the flight path. After turning right; on climb out the pilot did not maintain adequate airspeed and the powered parachute's canopy lostits lift and began to deflate, causing aircraft to decend. On decent, the aircraft struck the top of a 20 foot telephone pole, and then fell tothe ground. Neither the private pilot, nor his passenger was injured. Theairplane sustained minor damage to the propeller and shroud. Visualmeteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan had been filed.
