From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft with student pilot and flight instructor landed on centerline of runway 27 at approx 18:30 with everything being normal. On roll out aircraft stayed close to center line approx 250 yards and then began to veer to the right, going off the runway, r/h main gear hit a taxi way sign and then went into a ditch (total of approx 1250 ft to impact) with approx three foot of water. Aircraft flipped over when the nose gear hit mud and water. No injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the left wing due to impact. Damage included wrinkling of the lower wing skin, damage to ribs and stringers approximately two and half feet from the wing tip. Also had water damage inside the aircraft due to being in three feet of water. Flight instructor stated that he said, "my controls"! Twice but could not recover.
