From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N6908M departed runway 19 at Dillingham (dlg) Alaska on take off roll out, a noise from the pilots left rudder pedal was heard, and the aircraft attempted to veer right of centerline, pilot lifted the nose and completed the take off. In flight the pilot assessed the problem and determined the nose gear steering and braking had failed (the left rudder pedal structurally failed).pilot then called company and declared an emergency. Pilot then completed a go-around lining up on final to rnwy 19. His plan was to time the landing so when the nose gear touched down he would be next to taxi way (b) so if the aircraft veered right the aircraft would be on the taxi way. When the aircraft nose landing gear touched down the aircraft veered right, off the runway on to taxi way (b), hitting three taxi lights with the right landing gear tire and strut, aircraft stopped on taxi way (b)minimum damage to aircraft and no injuries. The weather conditions at the time of the this incident, visual flight rules (VFR) with visual meteorology conditions (VMC) dry conditions and a 10 to 15 knot left cross wind.
