From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the evening of may 25 pilot went for a pleasure flight with 1 passenger. Opened a flight plan with Dillingham flight service. While flying pilot decided to go down to cape constantine and amended flight plan to reflect that. Pilot did several uneventful beach landings. The wind was blowing approximately 10-15 knots along the beach. After landing pilot found the beach a bit soft ahead of the aircraft and attempted to back taxi. Pilot turned the airplane around by hand and started the aircraft. It took a substantial amount of power but the aircraft started moving. During the taxi the nose wheel began to sink into the sand and pilot pulled the throttle back as the prop struck the sand. Pilot shut off the mags and the master switch and passenger and pilot got out of the aircraft. Pilot lifted the nose wheel out of the hole inspected the aircraft and found that the prop was very bent. Pilot began to try to reach someone on the radio. Activated ELT and a borrowed spot device and began to try to contact aircraft on 121.5. Pilot contacted a few aircraft that relayed location, condition and request for assistance. Received a relayed message that someone would be out for pick up in the morning. Pilot and passenger picked up. Aircraft prop replaced and aircraft returned to Dillingham on special flight permit.
