From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 6/2/2012 privacy data omitted took off from El Fuerte Airport (MM79), los mochis, sinaloa, Mexico with three (3) pax in N92201, a Cessna 182 serial # 18260087--IN route to san blass, approx 35 miles south-southwest of El Fuerte Airport. Shortly after take off, it appears that privacy data omitted was fying over the El Fuerte river where he lost control of the aircraft after it came in contact with power lines/cables.
