From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Intended to take his entire family, one at a time for a ride. When I asked privacy data omitted how he received a weather briefing, he advised me that he listened to the automated boating forecast. The wind forecast was for less than ten knots. Next, privacy data omitted assembled the aircraft in about 45 minutes. Placed the vehicle in the water at began taxiing downwind, (wind was from the northwest), from terre Verde. Climbed to about 100 feet….. Noticed the winds were higher than forecast and the ride became rough. Thought he would turn toward the skyway, felt "a shove" from the wind, now behind him. The turbulence started to get worse, decided to land. Landed downwind. Landed hard and aircraft flipped over. Stated he had engine power all the way to the landing.
