From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Arrived on scene July 2, 2012. The sole occupant was transported to the hospital due to injuries sustained during this accident. Upon investigation, it was determined that this aircraft does not qualify as an ultralight and must be registered, have an airworthiness certificate and the pilot must have a minimum of a student pilot certificate. None of the above was able to be determined and based on an interview of the pilot, he told us he does not have a pilots certificate. This airman was hospitalized from July 2nd until approximately August 3rd or 4th. The airman was not able to provide any details of the accident, allegedly due to a head injury. He was unable to tell us where the aircraft was at this time and he was unaware of any manuals for the aircraft.
