From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 6, 2012, privacy data omitted(pilot) was landing at Auburn, Alabama (kauo). The landing was executed with normal procedures until the nose wheel touched down on the runway. The nose gear then folded back into the wheel well causing the aircraft propeller to strike the runway. The aircraft then made a hard turn to the right where it exited the runway into the grass. There is substantial damage to the front portion of the fuselage and the right side of the fuselage (above the right wing). No injuries were reported from the accident.
