From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While flying at 1000 to 1500 feet the aircraft engine suddenly flamed out. The pilot was unable to restart the aircraft and made an emergency landing. Aircraft remained upright and slid to a stop. After landing, the emergency fuel shutoff lever was found to be in the up (valve closed, fuel off) position and the safety wire was broken. The emergency fuel shutoff lever is located just to the left of the right seat passenger's leg. The passenger in this seat pulled his camera bag up from the floor and inadvertently and unknowingly moved the lever to the off position just prior to the engine quitting.
