From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N528W departed Richard Downing Airport (I40) just before 7:00 local on 7/22/2012. After completing the after takeoff check turning off the fuel boost pump. The engine suffered a significant power reduction that the pilot was unable to correct. The pilot attempted to return to runway 22 however, he did not have enough altitude or power to make the field. The pilot then elected to make a forced landing in a soy bean field approximately 2500 ft north east of the airport. On touch down the left main wheel was damaged including the brake line and caliper. There is also some evidence that the left wingtip my have cracked as it made contact with the ground. Both the pilot and passenger were uninjured.
