From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 9000 ft. enroute from mccullom field (ryy) Georgia to greensboro (gso) in north carolina the aircraft engine ran rough and quit. The pilot declared an emergency with greer approach and was directed to Pickens County Airport (lqk) in south carolina. Upon final approach to the airport at approximately 1000 feet the pilot stated the aircraft felt mushy and decided to deploy the emergency parachute that was installed on the aircraft. The chute deployed and the aircraft came to rest in a tree 20 feet in the air. There were 4 people on board and none were injured. Local EMS rescued the pilot and passengers soon after the event.
