From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot attempted landing at his private field and felt that he was going to land long. He began a go-around and started a right hand turn as to avoid a low overflight of a restaurant off the departure end. During the right hand turn, the pilot stated that the aircraft began to vibrate and the rudder pedals caused yaw over-corrections to the left and right. Because he felt the aircraft had become unstable, he shut the engine down and made an emergency landing in a corn field. A post crash fire destroyed the aircraft.
