From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft stalled and crashed on takeoff. Investigation of the engine and airframe did not reveal any discrepancies which would be causal. The aircraft had a recent annual with no outstanding discrepancies in the log book. The CFI stated that they were not using carb heat as is required by the tcds and placards in cockpit. Four eye witnesses reported that the engine was running rough on takeoff and the aircraft did not appear to be in control. The weight and balance revealed that the aircraft was over gross weight on takeoff given pilots weights, reported fuel, and fuel reciept from the date of the accident. See ptrs SO35201205999 for full report.
