From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The passenger has over 2,000 hours and holds a commercial pilot certificate; however, he no longer holds a valid medical and, therefore, is not allowed to act as PIC.the PIC allowed the passenger to fly the C-172 back to merrill field. Only very minor damage occurred to the complainant's C-185 aircraft at a total cost of $1,070.
