From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Sunday morning (8/05/2012), at 8:30 a.m., the airplane departed zelienople airport (kpjc) enroute to Nemacolin Airport (PA88), approximately a twenty minute flight. The pilot stated, "there was mild turbulence as I crossed the runway threshold, the aircraft made an initial small bounce followed by a second smooth touchdown." (Touchdown was estimated 60-65 mph with full flaps) "as I was preparing to brake, the airplane suddenly became airborne again, due to a sudden gust of wind. The plane lifted off the ground 5 - 6 feet, and then contacted the ground nose gear first."the nose gear collapsed and the airplane came to rest in the middle of the runway in an upright position, approximately 50 feet from the initial point of contact. The nose gear, propeller, and the right wingtip were damaged. There was no fire, fuel, or oil spillage.
