What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot landed to a pad constructed of logs with large spacing. The initial landing was too long on the pad and the pilot attempted to move rearward. The tundra pad on the left skid hooked under a log. The nose came up and the aircraft rolled left. The pilot corrected with right cyclic. He added power and the log under the left skid pulled free. The helicopter experienced dynamic rollover, leaving the pad nose high in a right roll and crashed. The helicopter rolled down hill. The pilot was fatally injured.
