From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was making his 3rd pass on the field, but the first pass going north to south along powerlines. Pilot was lining up to make his pass when he spotted a guy-wire and attempted to pull up. The left wing impacted the guy-wire and severed both the wing and the guy-wire. The aircraft then rolled upwards and became entangled in a high voltage power line. The aircraft came to a rest approximately 400FT from the initial guy-wire impact. The aircraft hopper and instrument panel were separated from the airframe and oriented north. The remainder of the cockpit, fuselage, and right wing were oriented south and were inverted.
