From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 08/20/2012 this office was informed that N6047G was involved in an accident on 08/17/2012. N6047G was operating out of a grass strip near Bogata Texas. The aircraft was loaded with 450 gallons of a round up / water mix in the hopper. The aircraft attempted to depart the approxiatly 2000 feet grass strip. At rotation the aircraft became airborne in ground effect. The aircraft crossed a water canal approxiatly 10-12 feet down in elevation at the end of the strip and began to lose the ground effect. The aircraft's left main gear impacted the canal bank. The aircraft lost the remaining altitude and the left wing began to impact the rows of corn in the corn field. Both landing gear were seperated from the aircraft and the aircraft came to a sliding stop in the corn field. Pilot stated the engine never lost power. Evidence concurs with his statement. The airman was not injured in the accident.
