From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1019 local time aircraft N149AM was cleared for takeoff at csg airport on runway 34 for a left traffic patern to an option on the same runway. Shortly after takeoff he was cleared for the option on runway 34 for a close left pattern. After completing the touch and go the pilot of N149AM transmitted "power loss, power loss going to rumway 13" when queried by tower he responded "power loss, power loss". That was the last transmission from aircraft N149AM. The aircraft had gone into a right downwind for runway 13. When turning to final the aircraft went into a spin (as seen on video of accident) and contacted the ground vertically approximately 150 feet from the approach end of the runway killing the pilot and destroying the aircraft.
