From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot taxied out to runway. Accomplished engine run up. Engine check was normal. He lined up on runway 25 and set parking brake. Released brakes while at power and proceeded down runway and at 80 mph, he lifted off. He thought he was not making enough power to clear the trees and thought he might stall so he tried to set the aircraft back down. The aircraft contacted the runway surface with 654 ft of runway remaining and 98 feet of grass overun. He departed the runway off the end of runway 7 and traveled approximately 800 feet from the time the aircraft touched the surface, before coming to rest in a ditch adjacent to dogwood lane.
