From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 9/10/2012 student pilot privacy data omitted had an accident located at 1AZ0 (Mobile AZ airport). This was the pilots 3rd solo flight. No other personnel were aboard. The conditions were light wind (approx 8KNTS) with take off planned into the wind. Upon reaching rotation speed the pilot reports that there was an apparent gust of wind that pushed the aircraft left. Despite trying to correct back right, the aircraft continued left off the runway. Upon leaving the runway the aircraft struck desert foliage on the left wing and eventually impacted the ground. Upon impact there was substantial damage to the aircraft. The left wing dislodged, the rear landing gear collapsed, and the propeller struck the ground. There were no injuries to the pilot.
