What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On September 27, 2012, approximately 15OO PDT, a Fairchild 24G, N19143, received minor damage resulting from a loss in directional control during landing roll at runway 22 at skagit regional airport. The private pilot, owner, and the sole occupant of the airplane was not injured. The title 14 CFR part 91 flight was performing touch and go at the time. A visual meteorological condition existed and no flight plan has been filed. The pilot indicated in his report that the aircraft bounced and started drifting to the right, the pilot reacted and proceeded to make normal corrections to the left and allowed the aircraft to descend. Soon after the the aircraft touched the runway, it immediately started to do a hard left turn which developed into a ground loop. This resulted in the aircraft skidding sideways causing the landing gear struts including the axles to break causing the aircraft to collapse on its underside and subsequently creating additonal damage on the engine exhaust, propeller, a small dent on the firewall coverings, fuselage formers and fabric coverings. The records show that the last annual inspection was completed on February 23, 2012.the pilot reported that his last biennial review (bfr) was on October 9, 2011. This bfr was conducted in a Cessna 172.
