From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 1, 2012, at 1750 pm CDT, a Cessna 152, N47586, was involved in an incident at the Beatrice municipal airport (kbie), Beatrice, Nebraska. The student pilot departed runway 36 to practice short and soft field takeoffs and landings solo in the aircraft. On his first approach to runway 36, the student pilot got too low and slow on the approach. The aircraft touched down 300 feet short of the runway and struck the medium intensity approach lighting system (malsr). The aircraft struck the 3rd and 2nd malsr prior to the runway, but missed the first one. The aircraft then rolled onto runway 36 striking one of the green threshold runway lights as it entered the runway. The pilot was not injured in the landing and exited the aircraft after shutting down on runway 36. No persons were injured in the landing incident. The aircraft received minor damage. Other than the malsr lighting system and threshold light, no other airport property was damaged in the landing incident.
