From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

I recieved notification at 16:40 LCL on 11/8/2012 of a disabled PA-31, C-6JBB at kfxe that had landed, and upon rollout had the nosewheel tire assembly fall off the aircraft during landing rollout. The pilot, privacy data omitted stated he was cleared to land on runway 26 and had his gear down and locked two miles out on final. The landing was normal, and upon rollout he stated that he felt the aircraft sink abnormally, and he cut the mixtures on the engines at that point. He attempted to steer the aircraft toward a taxiway, but instead ended up on the shoulder of the runway. The pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft, and there were no injuries. Upon inspection of the aircraft I saw the nosewheel fork assembly was missing below the strut and shimmy damper, apparently shaved down by the pavement. The nosewheel itself had been recovered with parts of the wheel bearing and it appeared that the bearing and associated parts on one or more sides of the nosewheel hub had broken, causing the nosewheel to fall off, and the aircraft to skid on on the wishbone fork assembly until it had ground down to the steering hub.

As the FAA filed it

I RECIEVED NOTIFICATION AT 16:40 LCL ON 11/8/2012 OF A DISABLED PA-31, C-6JBB AT KFXE THAT HAD LANDED, AND UPON ROLLOUT HAD THE NOSEWHEEL TIRE ASSEMBLY FALL OFF THE AIRCRAFT DURING LANDING ROLLOUT. THE PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED HE WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 26 AND HAD HIS GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED TWO MILES OUT ON FINAL.
