From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Two private pilots's were on board this aircraft at the time of the event. The PIC was seated left seat. The pilot in the right seat is considered a passenger and was not logging flight time at the time of the event. Based on the investigation, N746RA landed long on a 2400 foot long runway with trees on the approach end. After touch, with approximately half of the runway remaining, a decision was made to go-around followed by a decision to reject the takeoff due to insufficient runway remaining.
