From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The incident flight departed richmond, Virginia (ofp) en route to knoxville, Tennessee (tys) at approximately 1230Z. Upon contact with knoxville approach, the pilot was vectored for a visual approach to runway 05R. The pilot entered a long right downwind for runway 05R, at which time he set the flaps to ?to? (10O). After turning base, the pilot received a landing clearance for runway 05R from knoxville tower. The aircraft touched down gear-up approximately 1,000 feet past the threshold of runway 05R, skidded approximately 1,950 feet down the runway, and came to rest near the intersection of runway 05R and taxiway A3. While skidding, the pilot shut down and secured the engine by retarding the condition lever to ?cutoff? And moving the fuel selector to ?off.? The pilot informed knoxville tower that he had neglected to lower the landing gear and that the aircraft had landed gear-up. After securing the aircraft, the pilot and sole passenger evacuated the aircraft onto runway 05R and awaited the arrival of fire and rescue crews.

Post-incident examination of the aircraft revealed the landing gear lever to be in the ?up? Position and the flaps set to ?to.? No anomalies were discovered with the landing gear or the landing gear warning system.

UPON CONTACT WITH KNOXVILLE APPROACH, THE PILOT WAS VECTORED FOR A VISUAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 05R. THE PILOT ENTERED A LONG RIGHT DOWNWIND FOR RUNWAY 05R, AT WHICH TIME HE SET THE FLAPS TO ?TO? (10O).
