From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Ups flight 605 departed ord at 11.15 pm CST on 11 feb 2013; arrived sdf 01.02 CST. Flight log showed APU bleed leak ecam caution during descent with APU off and APU bleed valve closed. No other indications. Caution disappeared after about 10 minutes. Maintenance found "air intake flap" c/b popped. Fire damage was evident in APU compartment. Tests performed by maintenance showed that fuel would enter the APU if the APU master switch was on without the APU turning. It was also noted tht the fuel would flow into the APU at a rate beyond the ability of the drain line to drain the fuel overboard. The APU guide vane had melted and was in the air inlet screen and the air inlet duct. The air intake flap door showed fire damage. The aircraft is planned to be ferried to san antonio for repair at srxr and the APU is to be sent to Honeywell for teardown.
