From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed private airport south of mobile, al enroute to stanton, AL. Pilot was taking drugs and couldn't work GPS and was unable to navigate. He landed at unknown airport to "get his bearings", took off again and eventually landed at louisville, MS (well north west of destination). He went into town and realized he had no I.d. or credit cards (or license, drivers or pilot) and returned to airport and took off at 10:30PM. He flew until about midnight and ran out of fuel and glided to a swamp area and flipped over, still further north. He walked out the next day.
