From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was completing a third touch and go with gusty winds, 220@14G22, on runway 22. The aircraft yawed right 30-45 degrees, then back to the centerline. The pilot said the aircraft rolled hard to the left. The pilot added full power and departed the runway.

The flaps and gear were down and the aircraft maintained contact with the surface. As the aircraft approached the taxiway, the pilot pulled the power off and applied heavy braking. The aircraft slid across the ramp and impacted an auto gas fuel tank and a hangar.

There was damage to both wing tips. The tail tie down was bent after the tail was in contact with the surface. The aircraft came to rest on a heading of 090 degrees. Photographs were made. Statements were obtained from the pilot, passenger and FBO employee that was on the ramp. Continuity was established with all control surfaces, post crash.

The pilot was current and the airworthiness requirements for inspection were met.
