From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1400 local time privacy data omitted, the sole occupant of N54LQ, a Piper PA34-200, began a takeoff roll on runway 27 at Transylvania Community Airport(3NR3). At approximately 440 feet after beginning the takeoff run the right propeller began to strike the ground. The strikes diminish in intensity until, at approximately, the 552 foot mark, where they disappear. At approximately 668 and 693 feet both the right and left propellers, respectively, began striking the ground as the aircraft settled to the runway. The aircraft slid on it's belly, from the centerline of the runway to the left side where it came to rest at the 1320 foot mark and facing approximately 180 degrees.

privacy data omitted Was appropriately rated and possessed a current medical.

The aircraft had within it a current registration and valid airworthiness certificate.

The aircraft maintenance records were reviewed and found to be in order.

privacy data omitted Had the maintenance facility at the 3NR3 jack the aircraft and swing the landing gear. Prior to being able to swing the gear the 5 amp circuit breaker that powers the gear selector handle had to be reset. After resetting the breaker the gear retracted and extended normally. A visual inspection of the landing gear system was performed by the facility. The only relevant finding from the inspection was that the right hand landing gear actuator was found to have minor seeping around the lower fluid fitting.

It had been reported by privacy data omitted that the aircraft had not been operated in the previous 3 months.
