From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Balloon approach to landing impacted the ground hard and tipped over on its side up to a 45 degree angle. Pilot and 10 passengers on board where tossed around inside the basket. As the basket was dragged foward the back end of the basket lifted up causing the passengers in the back to be ejected falling foward and impacting various parts of the basket and burner system. Passengers falling foward experienced second degree burns when a propane flash ignited caused by the on/off valve of the burner being impacted by one of the passengers and turned on for a short period of time. One other passenger experienced first degree burns. The balloon envelope was damaged (torn) by tree limbs upon landing.
