From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On Saturday, may 4, 2013, a CE-182 aircraft, N2143R, landed at a grass runway at 7168 maxison rd., Lyons, NY. The pilot reported that when he had left his home airport of 0G7 (seneca falls, NY), there was a southeasterly wind, however there was no wind sock on the field in Lyons and he chose to land to the north due to a more clear approach from the south end of the field. He reported that he landed long and that he felt the grass had morning dew which would make it slick and therefore he could not rely on his brakes. He began losing control of the aircraft and decided against going around due to power lines being present at the north end of the field. He continued on across a driveway and the right wing struck a utility pole approximately 6 feet up from the ground. The pilot reported that the aircraft scewed to the right and the aircraft went down a slight embankment at which time the left wing caught the ground. At the time, the front of the aircraft caught the ground which bent the propeller and the aircraft continued approximately 120 more feet until it came to rest in a farmer's field.

No flight plan was filed and VFR conditions were present during the time of the incident. There were no injuries to the three persons on board.
