From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot privacy data omitted, narrative:

While maneuvering for a swath I believe I crossed my wake causing a stall that inverted the airplane, thus impacting the ground.

While the Schweizer G-164-D PT-6A turbine aircraft was maneuvering for another low pass over a flooded rice field to dispense rice seed. The aircraft flew through its wake turbulence that caused the aircraft to severely stall, that caused the aircraft to dynamically roll to an inverted position. The aircraft impacted the flooded field causing substantial damage, the pilot escaped uninjured. The aircraft was destroyed.

As the FAA filed it
