From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was flying inbound to Daytona Beach Airport at approximately 2000 feet. When cleared to enter a left base maneuver for runway 7L, the PIC stated a bird became visible in sight and his reaction was to pull the yoke however the bird struck the left wing causing damage to the leading edge and rib area. Originally assigned as an occurrence, was upgraded to an incident and not an accident given the area and amount of damage sustained to the aircraft. Further assessment of the damages deemed minor with no spar damage but, required replacement of ribs and a leading edge skin panel.
