From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Interviewed PIC and passenger, who was also a pilot being checked out in the aircraft, at emi FSDO.

This is a club aircraft owned by warren flying club. Aircraft departed oakland-troy approximately 1530 LCL. They flew for about an hour doing air work then landed at ray community for fuel. The aircraft was never shut down as they realized construction prohibited them from getting to the fuel pumps. They decided to go to pontiac for fuel and departed after being on the ground for about 5 minutes.

Both pilots reported a normal take off. Upon leveling at 3000 feet they stated the engine sounded and felt funny. A decision was then made to land at Romeo state. They reduced power and started a decent. The engine then started vibrating and oil pressure indication went to zero.

A precautionary landing was made in a field about 1 mile south of the airport. No damage or injury occurred.

FAA observed that about 12 gallons of usable fuel were in the tanks and 7 qts. Of oil in the engine.
