From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N519ZB departed akron fulton airport, with privacy data omitted acting as PIC with a new student pilot, en route to privacy data omitted aerobatic box located at privacy data omitted. N519ZB entered the aerobatic box and performed multiple steep turns to warm up and then initiated three upright left turning spins with normal recovery procedures from an altitude of 5,000 feet MSL. During the third spin recovery, privacy data omitted attempted to give power but observed the aircraft not only failed to produce power but the propeller had stopped its rotation. privacy data omitted Immediately pitched for best glide speed and turned his aircraft towards his grass strip. privacy data omitted Attempted multiple emergency restarts per the POH but to no avail. privacy data omitted Focused on landing the aircraft on the grass strip. privacy data omitted Had made several ?s? Turns to bleed off some altitude and landed on the middle of the north sod, bounced, and landed on the remaining north sod heading down hill. privacy data omitted Attempted to use heavy braking in the grass but the aircraft would not stop. Aircraft left wing struck a utility pole at the north end of the grass sod, which flipped the aircraft laterally over a culvert, coming to rest on an east/west public road. No injuries reported. Both privacy data omitted and student pilot walked away unharmed.
