From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was conducting traffic pattern work and upon landing noted he failed to confirm landing gear position resulting in a gear up landing. Aircraft skided to a stop damging prop and aircraft lower fuselage. This aircraft landing gear switch is a three position switch, up-off-down. Pilot stated that he did not take his hand off the throttle like he normally would to engage the landing gear. He fliped the landing gear switch with his right thumb resulting in the switch going from the up position to the off position, not the down position. He also noted that he never looked at the landing gear down indicator confirming the landing gear position.
