From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 07/25/2013 aircraft N31YH was preparing to land at (pih) Pocatello airport on runway 21 with a l/h cross quartering tail wind from 270 degrees @7KTS. No mechanical issues were reported by the pilot. Pilot states aircraft would not sink and had an indicated airspeed of 70KTS. PIC makes an input to increase angle of decent. When main landing gear contacts terrain the right hand wing climbs and the tail yaws left. The left main landing gear fold under the aircraft and the prop and left hand wing strike the ground. The PIC and passenger get out without injury. The last annual on the aircraft was performed 11/4/2012
